Goodbye Rain (Sayonara Rain)
translation: eurydike (reposted with permission from merry_fans)
So many tears you fought so hard. There’s comfort in crying tear girl...
Today’s weather is as the forecast predicted signs of rain outside the umbrella can’t protect your heart*...
Your numerous memories are being squeezed into your small chest**...
You sadly turn your back (on me) so you don’t have to turn your face...
Our goodbye leaves footprints in your heart...
Your hand lowers sadly so you don’t have to turn your face...
In this night, spent on your own, you cry together with the sad rain...
When you’re used to being alone you know what it means to be lonely. You long for someone who gives you a shoulder (to cry on)...
Today’s weather, again, is as the forecast predicted rain outside once more you eagerly long for someone who can give you shelter from the rain...
Suddenly, the telephone rings you lower its volume to 'mute'...
Your feelings are stained with lies...there’s no turning back...
You sadly turn your back (on me) so you don’t have to turn your face...
Our goodbye leaves footprints in your heart...
Your hand lowers sadly so you don’t have to turn your face...
In this night, spent on your own, the sad rain...
You sadly turn your back (on me) so you don’t have to turn your face...
Our goodbye leaves footprints in your heart...
Your hand lowers sadly so you don’t have to turn your face...
Because in this night, spent on your own, you cry together with the sad rain...
*Actually "心には傘なんてさせない…", "kokoro ni wa kasa nante sasenai..." = "the umbrella can’t be unfolded around the heart".
**This sentence actually goes "けして大きくはない胸に けして小さくない想いでを詰め込んで…", meaning "Into your converted chest, which is not big, you are squeezing your converted memories, that aren’t few" – but I found it awkward to write it that way. Furthermore, Gara wrote "keshite" only in Hiragana, "けして", which could either mean "to erase/to delete/to turn off" or "to transform/to convert/to change (into)" – I went for the latter, because I picture the small chest getting bigger and bigger in order to be able to hold all the memories, which make themselves smaller to fit in. You other translators: Please let me know what you’d have done with this sentence! ^.^
